Navigating the Rainy Season for Cancer Patients during Chemotherapy
The monsoon season brings a refreshing break from the summer heat—but for those undergoing chemotherapy, it also brings unique challenges. At the Indian Cancer Treatment Centre (ICTC), we understand how crucial it is to stay safe, comfortable, and infection-free during this damp and humid time. Here’s your essential monsoon survival guide to help you or your loved ones navigate chemotherapy safely during the rains.
Why Chemotherapy Patients Need Extra Caution During Monsoons

- Neutropenia : Reduced white blood cells due to chemotherapy
- Humidity: Favors growth of bacteria, viruses, and fungi
- Seasonal Illnesses: Higher prevalence of flu, cold, and viral infections
- Weather Challenges: Damp conditions can worsen fatigue and discomfort
Infection Prevention is Priority
