Scalp Cooling is a technique that prevents hair loss during Chemotherapy for patients suffering with and undergoing cancer treatment. Hair Loss or Alopecia is a known phenomenon which influences decision of taking chemotherapy by patients on some occasions whereas, those who take it for no alternative but chemotherapy do carry a social stigma & loss of confidence in facing society during treatment. Though hair loss is a temporary phenomenon in chemotherapy, it impacts patients to a great extent, most prominently to female patients. Why Scalp Cooling

  • Scalp cooling is a simple treatment that can prevent hair loss caused by certain chemotherapy drugs. The use of scalp cooling or ‘cold caps’ is proven to be an effective way of combatting chemotherapy-induced hair loss and can result in a high level of retention or completely preserve the hair
  • Scalp cooling efficacy for preventing chemotherapy-induced alopecia has been proven in many clinical trials and within numerous centers for all solid tumor cancers

Chemotherapy treatment against cancer

  • Instead of hand washing, use a washing machine, warm water, and laundry detergent to clean your clothes, fabrics, and beds.
  • Separately from other objects, wash any material that has been exposed to bodily fluids.
  • Hands should be washed with warm water and soap, then dried with paper towels.

Post chemotherapy care

Getting care is crucial once cancer therapy is over. Your medical team can assist you in managing long-term side effects and keeping an eye out for emerging ones. The term for this is follow-up care. Regular physical exams, diagnostic procedures, or a combination of both may be part of your follow-up care.
